What is DocIndy's membership base?

DocIndy, the corporation, offers a wide range of clinical services to both health plans, companies, third party administrators, and the retail market.

Will I be considered a DocIndy full-time employee if I join?

No. Each physician accepted to join the DocIndy network is hired as a contract employee through DocIndy, Inc. All contract employees receive a 1099 annually.

Does DocIndy offer medical malpractice insurance? Does it include tail coverage?

Yes. DocIndy offers coverage up to $1 million per incident and is capped at a total of $3 million. This insurance is provided free of charge.

What are the payment options for DocIndy services?

DocIndy accepts various payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and online payment platforms like PayPal.

General Medical

What does the General Medical service include?

The General Medicine service is staffed by a network of board-certified physicians who diagnose routine, non-emergency medical problems via the telephone and video. DocIndy physicians recommend treatment and prescribe medication (when appropriate) by telephone and video 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to patients.

What are the minimum qualifications to work for the General Medical Service?

We are looking for board-certified doctors with a specialty in internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine or pediatrics who are eager to help more people get care in their moment of need.

Does DocIndy have set schedules?

DocIndy asks physicians to provide a minimum of 20 hours of availability per month. You will work with our scheduling team to develop a schedule that works for you.

Does DocIndy provide follow-up care?

No. If follow-up care is required, the physician will recommend the patient see a primary care physician or visit an urgent care setting.

What is the age range for the patients I will perform consultations for?

DocIndy provides services to patients of all ages. DocIndy and the physician determine the best age ranges for the doctor to treat based upon the physician’s comfort level and the physician’s current practice age population.

Do I have access to patients' electronic medical records (EMR)?

Yes. DocIndy requires each patient to complete a medical history disclosure prior to their consult.

How long is a typical visit?

The average visit takes between 8-10 minutes to complete. The member requests his/her preference for a phone or video call.

Am I able to prescribe medication when clinically necessary?

Yes. You will use our embedded e-script service for prescriptions, but we do not allow the prescription of any controlled substances on the platform. We have nursing, associate provider, and pharmacy teams to support prescription requests.

Mental Health

What does DocIndy Mental Health services include?

DocIndy’s Mental Health service is a comprehensive solution offering members access to diagnosis, talk therapy and prescription/medication management. Our program includes clinical intake assessment with continuous monitoring measurements, along with a robust provider network consisting of board-certified psychiatrists, licensed psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, licensed mental health counselors and licensed marriage and family therapists.

What are the minimum qualifications?

We are looking for experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and social workers who are eager to help more people get care in their moments of need. Psychiatrists must be board certified by ABMS or AOA, hold an active state license and DEA, have no more than one open malpractice claim, and have no open licensing board complaints or probated or restricted licensure. Mental Health Therapists must hold an active state license, be able to work independently without supervision under their licensure, have no more than one open malpractice claim, and have no open licensing board complaints or restricted licensure.

How will I get visits?

DocIndy members visit the DocIndy member website, select a provider from our network and schedule an appointment. Only DocIndy members can select you through the DocIndy website. Members have access to ongoing appointments with providers, and appointments are offered by phone or video.

What is the age range for the patients I will treat?

DocIndy mental health care providers see adults and adolescents (ages 13-17). Providers elect the age group(s) they want to work with.

When is the service offered?

The Mental Health service is by appointment and provided 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Are there required hours to work with DocIndy?

Yes. We ask that Mental Health care providers offer a minimum of 20 hours of availability per month for appointments. What your schedule looks like though is up to you. You can supplement your current practice or potentially build a complete telemedicine practice, dependent on your state licenses.

As a psychiatrist, am I able to provide prescriptions when clinically necessary?

Yes. You will use our embedded e-script service for prescriptions, but we do not allow the prescription of any controlled substances on the platform. We have nursing, associate provider, and pharmacy teams to support prescription requests.

How do I bill and collect co-pays?

That’s the best part! No billing paperwork whatsoever. Once you complete your session notes and click complete, you will be paid on the next payment cycle (twice a month).

Dermatology

What are the minimum qualifications to work for the Dermatology service?

We are looking for board-certified dermatologists who are eager to help more people get the skin care they need. Dermatologists must also hold an active state license and DEA, have no more than one open malpractice claim, and have no open licensing board complaints or probated or restricted licensure.

What are the top conditions that DocIndy Dermatology treats?

DocIndy Dermatology treats a variety of concerns, with our top two consult requests for acne or rash-related issues.

Does DocIndy have set schedules?

Currently DocIndy is able to allow dermatologists to work their own hours. You can add to your current practice or build an entire telemedicine practice, dependent on your licenses.

How are visits conducted?

Dermatology visits are asynchronous and are managed over the platform. There is no phone call or video call involved.

What is the age range for the patients I will perform consultations for?

DocIndy Dermatology provides services to patients of all ages. DocIndy and the physician determine the best age ranges for the Dermatologist to treat based upon the physician’s comfort level and the physician’s current practice age population.

Do I have access to patients' electronic medical records?

Yes. DocIndy requires each patient to complete a medical history disclosure prior to the first consult, along with uploading 3-5 images of the concern.

How long is a typical consultation?

The average consults takes 10 minutes to complete.

Nutrition

What does DocIndy Nutrition services include?

DocIndy’s Nutrition service provides our members with virtual access (via scheduled video or phone visits) with our network of registered dietitians. Members work directly with registered dietitians who assess clinical nutrition needs and develop personalized programs including custom meal plans, shopping guides and nutrition manuals—all based on the latest, science-based guidelines for clinical nutrition. Our registered dietitians network will provide high quality nutrition therapy consultations with a focus on substantive nutrition planning that is practical and meaningful to the patient and a focus on motivational behavioral change and its benefits using expert registered dietitians training.

What are the minimum requirements?

We are looking for registered dietitians who are eager to help more people reach their nutrition goals and improve their health. Registered dieticians must hold an active state license and CDR certification.

What is the age range for the patients I will treat?

DocIndy’s nutrition service is available to all members, regardless of age.

When is the service offered?

The Nutrition service will be provided 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the member’s time zone.

How do I bill and collect co-pays?

Members go to the DocIndy website or mobile app to select their provider and schedule appointments with our network of dietitians. Only DocIndy members can select you through the DocIndy member website or mobile app. Registered dietitians must be licensed in the state from which the member is requesting the appointment.

Can members schedule follow-up appointments?

Yes. Members have an initial visit that averages 45 minutes and can schedule follow up visits with the registered dietitians.
